Nicole P. Menz, Esq. is originally from Minnesota. She graduated with honors from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1990 and received her law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1994.
Nicole moved to Vero Beach in 1995 when she was hired by State Attorney Bruce Colton as an Assistant State Attorney. Nicole spent nearly nine (9) years at the State Attorney’s Office. During her tenure, she prosecuted thousands of cases ranging from DUI to First Degree Murder. While with the office, Nicole served as County Court supervisor. In addition to her duties as a prosecutor, Nicole also lectured at the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association as well as provided law updates and legal training to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office and the Vero Beach Police Department.
Following her time at the State Attorney’s office, Nicole entered into private practice. She and her law partner Jeffrey Battista opened Menz & Battista, P.L. in 2004. Nicole now practices in the areas family law, dependency, adoption, and criminal defense. In 2005, Nicole became Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law. She is 1 of only 465 in the entire State of Florida to hold that certification.
Nicole also serves as a Civil Traffic Infraction Hearing Officer. As a Hearing Officer, she presides over traffic court in St. Lucie County, Florida.
Nicole has represented the Nineteenth Circuit on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee and she presently sits on the Board of Directors for the Substance Awareness Center of Indian River County.
